AGF Mystery Monday- Can You Guess What's in The Bag??

Hello Fabric Friends,

As a quilter/ sewer I have a love/hate relationship with fabric. There is no better feeling then spending a few hours at your local fabric shop slowly walking through the aisles of bolts making sure you pet each one as you  pass by. I always go to the store with a list of things I need to buy but I am not very good at sticking to what's on the list. My imagination runs wild and I see fabric that would be perfect for a summer dress, or my sister would flip if I made something for her with this fabric! How many of you say "oh I have to get this print, don't know what I will do with it but I have to get it just in case they run out. " Then a million hours later, I leave the store with bags piled high! Whoops.

Aww man... the troubles of a quilter. I say as long as your stash doesn't get to big and you have a plan for all the fabrics you buy then you are on the right track..which brings me to some exciting news! I would like to introduce "AGF Mystery Monday!" Monday's just became our favorite day out of the week.  AGF Mystery Monday is  a fun new approach to our fabric giveaways that is going to keep you in suspense!  See all the details below on how to enter the giveaway!

I hope you’re staying cozy this winter and that you’re doing a lot of sewing! Do you ever get those moments where you drift off into a daydream while you’re sewing? This always happens to me even when sewing isn’t involved. During these moments I tend to get thoughts about my days as a kid when I played pretend with dolls. Those were blissful days…

Although, you may think this collection is only for children, I beg to differ!  The color palette is filled with soft grays and rosy pinks combined with delicate floral and graphic elements that create a timeless and feminine look for makers of all ages.

An endless love for flowers: Wild Bloom by Bari J.

Hello, beautiful sewists!

Raise your hand if you love flowers as much as you love sewing! I know I sure do! Ever since I was a kid, I have fond memories of gardening with my mom (who also loves flowers), visiting botanical gardens, and when I learned how to draw it was the first thing I was inspired by. It’s no surprise that flowers make the world more beautiful! Especially when you incorporate them in fabrics, quilts, and sewing projects.

I know that during the fall it’s not conventional to use many flowers; but I encourage you to go against the current and use florals all year long. One designer that always makes us fall in love with florals no matter what season it is, is Bari J. She has knocked it out the park with her newest collection, Wild Bloom fabrics. From sketchy flower branches, bright bouquets, and vibrant hand painted blooms, this collection will have you dreaming of lovely gardens.

Another thing that makes this collection one of a kind, are the vibrant colors that splash each print! I’m currently obsessed with this pouch that combines one the collection’s florals with the “Sashiko Florette Coral” print because of how eye catching it looks with these bright colors. Isn’t is stylish?

Explore the Free Spirited World of Indie Boheme by Pat Bravo

Hello, beautiful sewists!

Lately I’ve been thinking about how sewing is a craft that you can always experiment with. With so many designers, fabric collections, and beautiful free quilt patterns available you can never get bored! The style that has been catching my eye is the boho trend. There’s something so carefree about this style and it’s so stylish in a funky way (plus I feel connected to it because my mom calls me the “bohemian” of the family”).

One collection that portrays boho style beautifully is Pat Bravo’s new collection Indie Boheme fabrics. This collection is the continuation of her successful first Indie Collection. Indie Boheme combines Pat’s love for faraway influences, eye-catching colors, and bold designs to create a free spirited range of prints.

Every time I look at this collection, I simply dream of flowy tunics and maxi dresses!
