Fabric Collections

Explore the Free Spirited World of Indie Boheme by Pat Bravo

Hello, beautiful sewists!

Lately I’ve been thinking about how sewing is a craft that you can always experiment with. With so many designers, fabric collections, and beautiful free quilt patterns available you can never get bored! The style that has been catching my eye is the boho trend. There’s something so carefree about this style and it’s so stylish in a funky way (plus I feel connected to it because my mom calls me the “bohemian” of the family”).

One collection that portrays boho style beautifully is Pat Bravo’s new collection Indie Boheme fabrics. This collection is the continuation of her successful first Indie Collection. Indie Boheme combines Pat’s love for faraway influences, eye-catching colors, and bold designs to create a free spirited range of prints.

Every time I look at this collection, I simply dream of flowy tunics and maxi dresses!

But boho style isn’t just for garments! You can add a creative touch to your home with boho decor with it. Think patchwork pillows, unique quilts, and much more. I invite you to flip through the Indie Boheme lookbook to find inspirations for all kinds of boho inspired projects.

Add a new quilt pattern to your collection by downloading the “Wildflowers” free quilt pattern.

If you would like to contrast the bold prints with a few blenders, here are a few we’ve curated for you. Aren’t they divine?

The Wondrous World of Blithe by Katarina Roccella

Hello fabulous makers!

Isn’t it crazy how we’re only a few days away from the first day of winter? Unlike us in South Florida, many of you are already experiencing colder weather. One thing that’s great about the cool temperatures is that you feel more encouraged to stay indoors and sew! This is the perfect time to work on all your UFO’s, start new cozy quilts, and sew all kinds of winter garments.

One collection that’s ideal for winter is Blithe by Katarina Roccella. This beautiful collection is filled with frosty trees, confident deer, and subdued colors that will have you sewing in a winter wonderland. We must admit that this season, we’ll be experiencing winter vicariously through this collection.

ArtGalleryFabrics_Blithe_PJs_3

One thing I truly love about Blithe is that it was inspired by a beautiful quote from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. “I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says 'Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”  Katarina beautifully translates this quote visually through her use of grays, deep plum, and cool shades of blue.

We prepared a wondrous look book for you to feast your eyes on mesmerizing quilts, comfy garments, and classy home décor. Check it out!

Sew Cheerfully with Here Comes the Fun by Sew Caroline

HereComesTheFun_banner

Hey fabulous makers!

The other day I had a thought… trends come and go but colors are always cool. There’s something so interesting about mixing and matching bright colors to create modern sewing masterpieces. Colors can change the mood of any project and if you choose vibrant hues, all your projects will instantly exude joy.

One collection that screams happiness is Here Comes the Fun by Sew Caroline. This collection is filled with happy lyrics, bold brush strokes inspired by street art, and whimsy florals that will simply make you smile when you sew with these prints. I personally have a special connection with this fun collection because it reminds me of the Arts District in Miami called Wynwood. The bright colors in this collection and especially the “Improv Strokes” print remind me of the beautiful murals that line the streets of that neighborhood.

I can already envision modern color block quilts and tons of children’s clothes with this youthful collection. Caroline has shown off her bubbly personality in her designs once more!

Learn About ANGLES - A new division of AGF

Hey there, fabric connoisseurs!

A few weeks ago we revealed that AGF has opened a new division of fabrics named ANGLES! We have been so flattered by everyone’s positive response and curiosity that we wanted to give you more details about this exciting new project.

  Angles logo cropped

Many makers have been asking the following questions and we're happy to answer all of them:

  • What is ANGLES and what does it mean?

  • What kind of designs should I expect to see in ANGLES?

  • Will the collections be made with the same quality of current AGF collections?

  • Who are the current Angles designers and will more designers be added to this new division?

What is ANGLES and what does it mean?

ANGLES is our new fabric division. Here at AGF we believe that fabrics are works of art that can be seen, used and interpreted in many ways. Hence fabrics can be seen from many "angles". We believe in what makes you happy, which means using prints you love in the way you want and combining them to suit your specific needs. This pays way to a new wave of designers, styles, and trends that will influence the way we sew in the years to come.

We want to keep inspiring you everyday. For this reason, we are embracing unique talents and myriad of design styles through our new fabric division, ANGLES. From vintage inspired motifs to funky trends, we are excited to open the doors to a new generation of fabric designers that will create new textile movements.

What kind of designs should I expect to see in ANGLES?

To put it in simple terms, you’ll be able to see a little bit of everything in this new fabric division. From cute novelty prints, to vintage designs appropriated into modern themes, to funky unimaginable prints! There will be a medley of styles to suit all of your sewing needs.

Will the collections be made with the same quality as other AGF collections?

The fabric collections created under ANGLES will have the SAME GREAT QUALITY as current AGF collections. As a maker, you’ll be able to enjoy new design aesthetics that will suit a variety of styles while sewing with the same amazing softness, drape, and vibrance that AGF always delivers.

Who are the current Angles designers and will more designers be added to this new division?

It is very important for us to bring you unique and exclusive design styles. Therefore, we are happy to have Dana Willard from Made Everyday and Amy Sinibaldi from Nanacompany as our introductory ANGLES designers! They’ll be showing off their unique styles with their new collections in the upcoming months. Each collection will consist of 16 cotton prints with 3 prints in knits and 1 print in canvas.

Dana will present Fiesta Fun fabrics | Available December 2016

Fiesta fun blog graphic

Amy will present Charleston fabrics & Les Petits fabrics | Available March 2017

And YES! In the future we do plan on adding more designers to ANGLES. We’ll be announcing new additions in the future, so stay tuned!

We hope you are as excited as we are to learn and sew with the new collections from ANGLES! Please let us know in the comments if you have any questions regarding our new fabric division.

Till next time!

The Denim Studio by AGF has grown!

Hello fabulous makers!

I hope you’re having a great week. We recently returned from Quilt Market in Houston and we are extremely inspired to start releasing all the upcoming collections for this season. While being at market I had the opportunity to speak to tons of business owners and makers. One thing I found in common with all of them was their adoration for the Denim Studio. This was great to hear because this substrate allows makers to think outside the box when they sew.

ArtGalleryFabrics_TheDenimStudio2_Pillows_6_new

For this reason, we have added tons of new denim prints and a variety of textures for you to have fun with! Check them out!

Denim swatches

If you haven’t sewn with our denim yet, I highly recommend it because it’s so versatile. At first thought most people just think of jeans when they hear the word denim. But in reality you can make anything with this substrate! Check out the lookbook we’ve prepared for you featuring projects with our new denims. You’ll fall in love with all the garments, quilts, and home décor!

To view a few close ups of these yummy fabrics, get inspired with this little video. I'm completely in love with the floral pants and the unique texture of the crosshatch denim! ;)

And of course, to start sewing with all the wonderful new denims, enter the giveaway! Have a chance to win a mixed bundle of the new additions to the Denim Studio.

LIVE from Quilt Market in Houston

Hey there, beautiful makers!

One of our favorite times of the year has arrived! It’s time for FALL QUILT MARKET in Hosuton, TX! Over the past weeks you got to see all the amazing fabric collections we have prepared for you this season and now we get to show them off to all your favorite shops. Since Quilt Market is only open for industry professionals (fabric shops, long arm quilters, pattern makers, etc.) we know it’s a bummer that all of you awesome makers can’t come.

But that’s not going to stop us from bringing you with us! Get ready to take a tour of our Quilt Market Booth, LIVE on Facebook. Stay tuned on Sunday, October 30th around 2:00 pm EST to see how creative our booth design is this time! Also, make sure to keep your eyes glued to our Instagram account to see all of our antics from the moment we build our booth. We can’t wait to show you everything!

Denim Studio 2.0 Blog Tour Re-Cap

Hey everyone!

Did you get a chance to see all the amazing projects in the Denim Studio 2.0 Blog Tour? If you didn’t, you’re in for a treat because today we’re showcasing all the amazing makers on this tour! If you’ve been following what we’ve done in the past with the Denim Studio, you probably know that when we first launched denim as a new substrate our friend the Tattooed Quilter hosted the first installment of the Denim Studio Blog Tour. Since then we have added some new additions to this collection such as new denim prints, Outland Yarn Dyes, Crosshatch Textured Denim, and Streaked Blend Denim.

Denim collage

When the very sweet Sarah from Sariditty Handmade (who also was part of the first tour) told us she wanted to host the second version of Denim Studio Blog Tour, we were extremely excited. We couldn’t wait to see what amazing projects were going to be made with our new denims. But enough of me talking…Without further ado, I present to you the projects from the Denim Studio 2.0 Blog Tour.

Christopher – The Tattooed Quilter

Tattooed quilter denim mini

First up, on the tour was Christopher a.k.a. The Tattooed Quilter and master of mini quilts. For this stylish mini he was inspired by Amy Sinibaldi’s #asdesignchallenge. He used a few of our new denim prints and our Outland Yarn Dyes in white, Rose Feather, Deep Ocean, and Endless Paradise. This yummy combination of colors is definitely worth taking a closer look at. Visit his blog to read all about his mini. ;)

Nicole – Lillyella

Lilly ella pillow 1

Isn’t this floor pillow fabulous? Nicole completely nailed a beautiful juxtaposition between edgy denim and feminine details. I would love to have this floor pillow in my house! For this project she used our “Clouded Horizon” Crosshatched Textured Denim with the “Paradis Sweet” print from Joie De Vivre fabrics by Bari J.  Read her blog to get some tips about making this pattern.

Sarah – Sariditty Handmade

Elements quilt-Sariditty

Sarah colored our world with her amazing quilt made with AGF Denim and Elements! For the white background she used our “Vanilla Mist” Outland Yarn Dye and throughout the colorful blocks you can find bits of our Solid Smooth Denim and the other colors of the yarn dyes. I encourage you to check out her blog post where she explains all the details about her design.

Jennifer – Ginger Peach Studio

Jennrossotti_denim shirt

I absolutely LOVE this fashionable shirt Jenn from Ginger Peach Studio made with a combination of our Solid Smooth Denims! From the embroidered details to the positive vibes she evokes with the phrase “voir le bon” meaning “see the good” in French; this shirt is better than any ready-made garment out there. Check out Jenn’s Instagram to take a closer look at all of details.

Matthew – Mister Domestic

Mister domestic's woven quilt

Last but not least our AGF Sewcialite, Mister Domestic was the last participant on the awesome blog tour. As you already know, Matthew is a weaving fiend and he used these masterful skills to create a woven denim quilt. Isn’t it insanely wonderful? He weaved together Solid Smooth Denim and added accents of the Outland Yarn Dyes to give it little pops of color. Visit Matthews blog read about his crazy quilt weaving process.

I hope you love all the projects in the Denim Studio 2.0 Blog Tour! As always, stay creative and thanks for inspiring!

All the best,

Stephanie

P.S. If you never got to see our Denim Studio video, here it is so you can check it out! It's filled with inspiration!
